Dreva on Tweed : ウィキペディア英語版 | Dreva on Tweed Dreva on Tweed (or simply Dreva) is a hamlet in the Scottish Borders (N55:36:20 W3:21:31; 314500 635500). It is noted for the historical presence of a Peel tower. ==Etymology==
The name is first attested quite late, in 1649, as ''Draway''. This seems to be a Cumbric name, perhaps cognate with Welsh ''(y) + tref + ma'' 'the place of the (fortified) farmstead'.〔Bethany Fox, 'The P-Celtic Place-Names of North-East England and South-East Scotland', The Heroic Age, 10 (2007), http://www.heroicage.org/issues/10/fox.html (appendix at http://www.heroicage.org/issues/10/fox-appendix.html).〕
